Why did the customer contact us?
The customer needed repairs to their crawl space.
Solutions provided:
Existing space is partially encapsulated. Vents are open, no insulation or dehumidification.
Customer has been complaining about cold floors as well. Some musty odors in space were noted.
To complete the encapsulation, provide comfort and improvements to air quality the following is proposed.
Apply 2 inches of closed cell foam to entire perimeter rim joist in both crawlspaces.
Install Borafoam termite resistant foam board on all exterior walls up to sill plate.
Seal all crawlspace vents
Partially condition space with inducer in supply trunk.
To dry out space, prevent mold and provide healthier indoor air install SantaFe Compact 70 dehumidifier with condensate pump, direct discharge outside of space.
Replace metal hatch door with new poly hatch door with insulation and weatherstripping.
