Why did the customer contact us?
The customer needed a crawl space encapsulation.
Solutions provided:
Remove all the batted fiberglass insulation and old vapor barrier from the crawlspace and haul away from the property. Sterifab to treat for mold and mildew on all floor joists.
Install R11 bora foam board on the exterior walls of the crawlspace. Install R11 bora foam board to entry point walls. All seams in the rigid foam insulation and all vapor barrier joints & terminations will be seamed/taped. Block off all the vents. Spray foam the exterior rim joists with 2 inches of closed cell spray foam. Spray foam the pipe penetrations in the sun-flooring/ ceiling of the crawlspace. Install new dimple shield and 16 mil white vapor barrier/crawlshield of the floor of the crawlspace. Install white composite new door and half cover on entry point. Insulate entry door. Run the vapor barrier into the half covered area of the crawlspace. Install 16 mil vapor barrier all the way up the interior walls and stop at the bottom of the seal plate.
Install one Santa Fe advanced 90 with condensate pump. Run discharge line to right side of the home. Summit will install one designated electrical outlet for the dehumidifier. Install a ducting kit from the dehumidifier to the backside of the crawlspace. Dehumidifier will be installed in the middle of the crawlspace facing the smaller crawlspace in the front of the home.
