Why did the customer contact us?
The customer had rodents in their crawl space and needed new insulation and an encapsulation after they caused damage.
Solutions provided:
Remove all insulation boards, batted insulation, fecal matter, and vapor barrier. Sterifab entire accessible crawlspace to disinfect and treat for mites, lice, and bacteria. Replace the section of 6 inch insulated hvac line that rats have chewed through. Some digging will be needed to access some parts of crawlspace. Insulation, fecal matter, carpeting, and additional flooring material near entry point will be removed and the area will be disinfected.
Rodent program
Set up one way for rats on possible entry points and set rat snap traps in crawl space.
The technician will come out once a week for four weeks to check traps.
Animal barrier wall in crawl space
Dig down 16 inches and install a stainless steel screen along the trench area indicated by the technician. Install quarter inch stainless steel screen and secure top with screws. Secure bottom of screen with cement.
Crawl space Encapsulation
Install R11 bora foam board on all walls of crawl space. Spray foam seal plate in crawl space. Install dimple shield and crawl shield/ 16 mil vapor barrier. Along the exterior wall install plywood.
Install new plywood along the entry point and new access panel.
