Why did the customer contact us?
Existing crawl space has batted insulation in joist bays and bead board fastened to underside of floor causing a double vapor barrier, Rodent activity is being dealt with but space is wide open in the rear. Vapor barrier on the floor is intact but not adequate.
Solutions provided:
Demo old bead board on underside. Remove existing batted insulation.
Apply 2 inches closed cell foam to perimeter rim joists to air seal and provide R13 insulation. Install 2 layers of R10 Bora Foam termite resistant board to exterior walls up to the sill plate.
Construct and install new poly hatch doors with new hinges, latch and 2 layers of Bora Foam plus weather stripping. Seal 2 crawlspace vents and 2 openings at hatch entry.
To partially condition space install the inducer in the main supply trunk.
Duct work has had issues with rodents. Will need to inspect at time of work and will recommend any additional flex duct replacement as needed. Add Crawl Space liner in place of existing liner. Seal to all columns, foam board and walls. (mil 16 thickness). Install WiseAire 60 dehumidifier with hanger kit, condensate pump and electrical outlet by a licensed electrician.
